Comparison/ First Impression of Clarisonic Mia vs. Clarisonic Mia 2 + Multiple Colors with Pictures

Hello hello,
This is definitely one of my favorite blog posts to write because I have been obsessed over the Clarisonic for a good six or more months now. When the first ever Clarisonic came out I didn't really pay attention cause there was no way I was going to spend about $300 on a face brush. However, when Clarisonic got the genius idea to create a smaller, travel friendly, and cheaper version it sparked my interest. But once again I couldn't fathom spending about $150 on a facial brush. Expensive expensive. When I had the opportunity to get the Clarisonic at a discounted price & try out both the Clarisonic Mia and Clarisonic Mia 2, I definitely jumped on the idea.

From my own experience it was definitely a hard decision between the Clarisonic Mia and Mia 2. So lets break it down:

Clarisonic Mia: IN LAVENDER, LIMITED EDITION: ISLAND CORAL & BLUE
+ Comes in 12 colors (sometimes more depending on when they release limited edition colors)
+ One speed
+ No timer
+ Uses the same brush heads as all the other Clarisonics
+ One year warranty
+ Magnetic charger
+ Completely waterproof
+ $119 (comes with a cleanser and charger)---will sometimes have holiday deals/sets

Clarisonic Mia 2: IN PEACOCK
+ Comes in 7 colors (sometimes more depending on when they release limited edition colors)
+ Two speeds (note: there is a normal and a low- the normal is the exact same speed as the mia)
+ Timer (beeps when you need to move to another area)
+ Uses the same brush head as all the other Clarisonics
+ Two year warranty
+ Magnetic charger
+ Plastic travel case
+ Completely waterproof
+ $149 (comes with cleanser, travel case and charger)---will sometimes have holiday deals/sets

CLARISONIC MIA IN BLUE

 HOW IT CHARGES

PLASTIC TRAVEL CASE

First impression: I started off by using the clarisonic mia 2 since it basically had the clarisonic mia built in...it came with the sensitive brush head which I thought would be good for my skin because I don't like roughness on my face but I wouldnt exactly call my skin "sensitive" especially since i use the St. Ive's apricot scrub which if any of you use you know it had jagged exfoliates in it. But while using the sensitive brush head it felt like a rough brush was moving over my skin. So I think I might purchase the delicate brush head. But tried out the mia 2...skin is soft but nothing life changing YET...Tried out the different brush head speeds on the mia2 (normal and low) there isnt a huge difference i mean you can tell the brush is going a little slower but i dont know if its worth the extra money. In addition, the lower speed is considered for people with really sensitive skin but so is the delicate brush head. Also the timer is sometimes annoying because i tend to want to do my own thing such as if i think my chin needs more attention or whatever but with this timer it beeps and pauses.

Verdict: I have officially decided to stick with the Clarisonic Mia.
Here are my reasons:
1. Its cheaper (119 compared to 149--without tax)
2. The timer annoys me cause I want to focus on different areas longer and do my own thing
3. The speeds on the mia 2 (not a big difference or I think worth the extra money)
4. The clarisonic mia has better colors....at least for me ;)
5. The travel case is crappy plastic that I could break in a minute and it makes the tool more bulky...rather put it in a bag

Hope this helps with your decision, I will be putting updates as time goes on!

Inexpensive Dupe For Maybelline Color Tattoo Barely Beige

Hey everyone,
So as some of you know Maybelline made some limited edition color tattoo's that were for the fall season. They produced Mossy Green, Rich Mahogany, Gold Shimmer and Barely Beige. If you spotted these and got your hands on them consider yourself lucky! Unfortunately, as of right now there has been no word if any of these shades will be released into their permanent collection. Everyone is obviously hoping for the barely beige to make its permanent appearance. I spotted this goregous color at my local drugstore but thought to myself eh itll be there when I come back here....boy was I wrong...they sold out in a snap. Soooo I never got my hands on it. But everyone says its a dupe for MAC's paint pot in Bare Study...too bad those are like $20. Twenty bucks I don't want to spend. But onto the explanation of this color and its dupe.

Barely beige is light beige color with some shimmer and is considered lighter than a champagne color. Many people choose to use this color as a base for under eye shadow.

Personally I have not seen any cream eye shadow color that even resembles this color until NOW!

The answer is Essence Stay All Day Long Lasting Eyeshadows in Glammy Goes To....
The consistency isn't as creamy as the color tattoo's but it definitely warms up when applied with fingers and applies evenly and beautifully to the eyelid. Its a build-able color so if you want a darker beige bronze just apply a little more. In addition its only $3.99! I wore it all day with no creasing, stayed in place all day and looked the same later in the day as when I first applied it. Another pro is it is easier to remove than the color tattoo's.

To see swatches of the Barely Beige please refer to http://nouveaucheap.blogspot.com/2012/08/swatchs-comparisons-maybelline-limited.html

Overall a great product and inexpensive dupe for the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Barely Beige!
Let me know if you have found any good dupes!

Influenster: Free Beauty Box + Review

Hey everyone,
I thought this would be a fun little post for everyone. This time I am talking about influenster. Influenster is a website that anyone can sign up for, create a profile, and start taking surveys. If you have a youtube channel or a blog you will most likely to be eligible to get a free box. There are various categories for boxes such as the bride, beauty, and cat lover box. I received the beauty box and this video will show you what I received and what I thought of the products.

Review of Influenster: The website is really easy to use and navigate around. The badges allow you to earn points and potentially earn a free box of goodies. Easy to earn badges just take some surveys. One thing that the old website had that I wish the new one would incorporate is allowing you to upload videos to the site. They have a link for your blog or youtube channel but I wish they had a section to upload individual videos. The process for receiving the beauty box was very easy you fill out a preliminary survey and then get emailed if you are a finalist. In addition, it was shipped very fast. I think its a great concept for brands to get their product out there and see what the public thinks. Another great feature to the website is having a review section where anyone can check out products and how people rated them and comments about the product. Overall, great website and easy to use.

Don't Pay For Expensive Nail Polishes

Hey everyone,
Most people love a good nail polish that doesn't chip, stays on long, and has a great variety of colors. Some of the most common brands are OPI, Orly, China Glaze, and Butter London. Personally, I think all these nail polish brands are over priced except sometimes China Glaze. There are two brands which I have been LOVING lately that won't break the bank.

These brands are Sinful Colors and Wet n Wild. The main category of polishes in the Wet n Wild collection that I love is the Mega Shine. Both of these brands are super long lasting, gorgeous color selection, aren't prone to chipping, and of course super cheap!

Prices:
Wet n Wild Mega Shine - $1.79-1.99
Sinful Colors - $1.89

Availability:
These brands are available at various drugstores!

And the best part about these nail polishes are they have some amazing fall colors that are right on trend so definitely next time you're in a drugstore give them a try!

One other thing to mention is I do add a quick dry top coat every time I paint my nails

Update: I will write a post on some of my favorite fall nail colors!

Happy nail hunting

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains

Hey everyone,
Since its now officially fall I decided to pick up some fall lip colors. Now I'm not a big lip product fan, I rarely wear lip stick. I do tend to only use chapstick or gloss when I want something on my lips. So when I hear about these balm stains that are glossy like lip gloss but stain your lips so you can eat and drink with them without a lot or no transfer at all...I really wanted to try them.

Left to right: Crush, Romantic, Smitten and Honey

Hope you guys try these out cause I am definitely loving them!
